The rosary!
For the past few day in room one we have been learning about the rosary and what the rosary is, why we say it and how we do it. In this blog post i will be telling you all of those things like why we do it,how we do it and what the rosary is.
What do we say?
The first thing we say is the sign of the cross (name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit Amen) as we are saying this we pick up the rosary beads and hold the cross in the hand that we do the sign of the cross with (right) so that we are doing it with the cross touching us
After that comes the glory be.
Then the leader says the first part of the hail Mary (Hail Mary full of grace the lord is with you blessed is you among all woman blessed the fruit of your womb Jesus) then we all join in and say the last part of the Hail Mary (Holy Mary mother of God pray for our sinners now and at the hour of our death amen.) we say the hail Mary 3 times first for faith hope and charity.
Next we announce the first mystery, the mysteries are events or episodes of Jesus life on earth.
Following that we say the our father as we did with the hail Mary the leader will lead the first part of the our father (our father who is in heaven holy is your name your kingdom come your will done on earth as it is in heaven) then the rest of us join in and say the last part of it (give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us and lead us no into temptation but deliver us from evil, Amen)
Next we say the hail Mary 10 times over with the leader leading it as we did before and each time you say the hail Mary you should be thinking of the first mystery.
What do we do?
Holding the rosary beads you move one of your fingers along each of the beads. Each time you say the hail Mary you move your finger along one bead we do this to keep count of how the amount of times we have said the hail Mary.
Why do we do the rosary?
We do the rosary to remember the life Jesus and the life of Mary. By doing the rosary it is a way for us to remember everything Jesus and Mary did through out their life.
